Ben received a Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Pretoria (2009). In the year 2003 he was employed by Newtown Landscape Architects on an apprenticeship program so that he can learn and understand the landscape architecture field before enrolling at the university. During varsity vacations, Ben continued to work at Newtown Landscape Architects as a landscape architect assistant.
